Fancy Gap Hiking: Forest Bathing
January 9, 2021 : 1:00 pm - 3:00 pmFree
Shinrin-yoku, otherwise known as forest bathing, is the practice of totally immersing yourself in nature.
We will be walking silently to allow a fuller immersion with nature while consciously using all of our senses.
The trails at Stone Mountain State Park are perfect for this type of activity. We will enjoy 3 miles of hiking through diverse forests with occasional views of the Blue Ridge escarpment and a brief stop at a preserved homestead.
This is a moderately difficult walk on single-track dirt trails with changes in elevation. The overall average pace will be 2.5 mph. Sturdy, closed-toed shoes are recommended. Please dress in layers and bring water.
Before starting, you will receive some tips on how to get the most enjoyment from the activity so please try to arrive about 10-minutes early.
This event is free but registration required. To register, please contact us.
